De-cat downpipes etc

Post by hardhitter »

I am going to get some mk 3 polo downpipes made up very shortly for anyone who is interested.
They are available for all models including 1.0, 1.3, GT and G40. The price is £25 exchange (your old downpipe) and they are made using stainless steel.

Fitment is excellent and they obviously retain the oe lambda probe.

If anyone is interested in chip for their GT, I can do these too.

Interested.... what would the actual procedure be like? Does it involve sending the actual existing downpipe off the car away and getting it back modified a week or two later? Or receiving a new one then sending you the old one?

(plus.. how much has to be removed/replaced? is it an easy task for a beginner type (not novice any more, but only just) to remove & replace, or better to slip another 25 to a local friendly vw grease ape?)

And what.. no chips available for 1-litres? :D

Oh man I'm just? Mr Questions? Today?

What I do is take the old downpipe to be converted, then its cleaned up and finished ready to be sent back. Possibly with a new gasket, if I can get some more.

I have about two spare ones here ready to be done, so I could have one ready to go out as soon as I recieve the old one and payment.

They are held on the manifold with studs and nuts, then the lambda (which can be left in) and a 13mm bolt then just clamped to the centre section. If anyone isn't sure i can fit them, if you want to bring it up here.

The chips are £20 fitted, if you want to bring it here or meet us at one of the local meets, I can do that.

Any questions, e-mail or pm me.

Dan, how much extra power can you get with this chip? (for £20 even 2bhp seems enough! :P )

Sorry but I dont do chips for the 1.0 Mk 3 Polo. I dont know anywhere that does either, possibly in Germany but I doubt you would gain much.

I can only do chips for the Mk 3 GT (3F) engine with digifant injection system.

Is it possiable to just buy the de-catted down pipe by itself?
Seeing as I don't realy want to be out of action.

I'm sure I could organise something. I could really do with your old one, because they are made from original downpipes. PM or e-mail me if you want to sort one out.

Thanks

Yes, I will be at the manchester meet on the 29th. Should have some downpipes with me too, providing they can be done this this week. I will keep you posted.

Thanks
