Polo engine ... No power, un burnt fuel and back fires

Post by Rmachines »

Hi, what could this be? Its an older polo fox i think (K) 1.3L its my freinds, he serviced it and when it started it sounded like a quiet moped engine lol.

its firing on all 3, but theres no power what so ever... cant pull away even, it just stalls. its back firing and poping aswell.

Also a strong smell off egg so obviously unburnt fuels getting to the cat.

any ideas? I goto fix it for him and im not to sure where to look.

Ahh could be, i will check that. I thought they ran rough though, i mean the engine runs very smooth if you hold it about 2000 RPM, just sounds odd and has NO power

well when i done it it seemed to tick over but sounded like a drag car lol. I was actually liking it haha. But no power, massive backfiring. Managed to drive it off the drive and down the road when i got fed up with the lack of power. Then got out and conceded into something i didnt want to do. Phoend my mates dad told him what was wrong he told me i was a w**k and i fixed it based on what he said lol.\\Give it a try. Even if it doesnt work you wont hurt it at all!
