How much should i sell her for?........

Post by Black16v »

The time for departure is growing ever closer i feel..........

Thinking of getting myself an 04 plate Honda Civic Type R in nighthawk black now that i can afford it. So i will be selling my polo in the near future. Looked on autotrader for rough prices for the same mileage as mine and im sure that my mods wont add a jot to the value but im wondering what you guys think i could get for the old girl.

Ok, shes had a new gearbox recently coz the old one went for some reason and its all good now, central locking pump doesnt work at present but i'm getting the pump through on monday so it will be working soon, and the rear wiper doesnt work but im currently negotiating getting one on ebay so that soon will be operational. Apart from those things she runs as sweet as a nut right now, will be a bit gutted to see her go. ok so the specs.......

1997, 1.4 16v, black, 70k on the clock, sunroof, electric front windows/mirrors etc etc. Wolfrace prorace 17" alloys, Reiger RS3 bodykit, debadged bonrath grille, and other small exterior mods i.e clear side repeaters, exhaust backbox etc.

Theres a picture in my sig below

What you guys think?
cheers!

they vary all over the UK, check Autotrader, and the AA website for a valuation.

Yeah i checked autotrader and thats why im asking here aswell. As you said, the price varies all over the UK and im wondering where abouts i should place my asking price. i guess as i live in Herts, it being the south east and the county next to london i could ask for a bit more than most.
is £1600-£1700 reasonable?

I wouldn't add much value to the car on additional parts you've put on but the price you say is adequate in my opinion. Have you got FSH?, if so you should get the higher end of £1700 if the cars immaculate.

yeah i pretty much knew the mods wouldnt add any value to the car at all!! shame but there we go. infact it would probably decrease it as most ppl want to buy a fresh car to mod........plus it narrows down the market to the young men of this green and pleasant land....

Yeah ive got FSH, all my reciepts for the mods, etc etc. i just keep everything to do with my car in a big file box, so its all good. as for the condition theres no rust spots, no dented bodywork etc etc. only thing that doesnt work is the central locking and rear wiper. Both those parts came today though so they will be up and running by sunday. £1700? sounds good!

edit:infact the central locking now works, pump was a peice of donkey p**s to install. rear wiper will work soon!

Then i'd say £1700 should be a good asking price then.

Certain mods can fetch enough cash back seperately to make a difference so you still have original replacements then re-attach them Sell mod seperate for more cash and increase your market as much as you can. In some cases it can e a hassle doing this so it depends if you rally can be bothered
