ta-Technix coiles, who has them and whats your opinion?

Post by mk5 polo »

Hey people, was just wondering the site and found someone selling these on another forum for £200. I think this is an attractive price for coiles, but dont want something that is poor in quality and ride, so if you have these on your polo please let me know what you think.

( another usefull hour of work time spent browsing uk-polos. net :)

i got these on my old gti, they are good, the ride quality is fairly stiff though, and i still got some body roll even at 100mil+ but that could probably be solved with some strut braces

i've got these on mine now, like shantybeater said they are a stiff ride, i find my self trying to avoid potholes now. Oh and they will most definately rust if you don't grease them up properly and give them a wash now and then. but for £200 with a 2 year warranty you can't go wrong in my opinion.

well sort off, i'd wash all the grease and dirt stuck to them off, with a pressure washer, i would then regrease them and move the adjusters up and down a bit to stop them from seizing up

ok thanks, im guessing you have to do this alot more in the winter months due to dirt and crap left all on the road! about once a week should do the trick (well atleast with the jet wash)?

nope i'd only do it once or twice a year, then just regrease, don't need to do it every week

like said, they WILL rust so grease them. i bought some over a year ago back when they wer the 'evo' ones, and gave them a very liberal coat of copper grease, litterally put s**t loads on. not cleaned them since and werent seized when i adjusted them last week....adjusters spun up and down like new.

copper grease is perfect, you can also get it in a spray can from halfruads and other places which is much easier. And yeah try grease up as much as you can, oh yeah don't grease up the actual shock bit which compresses. Don't worry i was the same, you can only learn by asking questions, even if they are stupid sometimes  (not that yours are)
