Problem with fitting angel eyes! HELP!!

Post by rydale13 »

Hi y'all!!

I have a polo mk4 GLX ('97)

Just kinda confused about the fitting of angel eyes. I know the fitting is different if you dont have electric headlight adjust (which I don't).

and I know there is a ton of threads about the wiring, which I understand now what goes where as I've been told enough times! lol.

One problem I have is knowing how to keep the wires in place!!?
I was planning on cutting the loom of my old lights and using that on the new angels to connect to the car. One thing I cant get my head around is, when you have placed the wires in their correct location, how do you fix them into place in the loom!!?

Might be a reeeeally daft question but I need help!

Cheers guys.

i dont know which angel eyes you have, but i got the ultra ones, or whatever they are, but on mine there was a load of red and black earths, i crimped them onto a kind of washer thingy, n then earthd it to my engine brackets, and i think i had to cut my origional indicator light wires and crimp them to the socket thing which came with the angel eyes, if you get some photos of what your problem is i should be able to help a bit better lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimp_%28joining%29
Crimping is joining two pieces of metal or other malleable material by deforming one or both of them to hold the other. The bend or deformity is called the crimp.

u basically buy a thing thats like a little metal tube and u insert both wires into either end of the tube then use special pliers to squeeze the metal tube shut holding the wire in place.
