Having a bad week (warning: rant inside!)

So damn sick of my car at the minute!

Last friday an old lady in my street crashed into my polo when I was at work and although she came over and admitted everything to my girlfriend, which was pretty decent of her, but when I went round for the insurance details she decided she wanted to try and pay for the damage herself! much fannying on going to garages for quotes etc ensued and in the end she couldn't afford it and needed to go through the insurance after all. When i finally did get her details she kindly pointed out that she had protected no claims anyway!

Fast forward to this morning and I get in the car, start it up and both the front and rear wipers come on, which I thought was weird because I rarely use the rear ones! About a minute later they were still going even though the switch was in the 'off' position, anyway, I thought, sod it and went for some food. After I'd had something to eat I jumped back in the car, just to find a load of slush (not just a little bit either, it was like a mini avalanche!) had made its way in when i opened the door! Sitting right on top of the doorcard melting its way down the plastic onto the fabric!

So now I have went from having a perfect car last friday to having a one with wipers that wont go off, a soaking interior and in need of a new rear qtr panel! Just waiting for the clutch and gearbox to simultaneously f*****g explode the next time I take it out!!

We all have bad weeks like this, they are good for you, when things go right it makes you appreciate it more...

The car will dry, the electrical problem can be fixed (its just a relay lol)...and the bodywork will eventually be sorted...just take one step at a time m8...its friday...go get WASTEDDD

My wipers went like that a couple of months back. Tested the relay and it was fine. Finally found the fault and it was the actual wiper stalk. I pulled out the fuse for the next week, lol. It is a pain though

update: The wipers turned out to be a wiring fault and the car is going in on monday to get its bodywork repaired.

supposed to be getting a 'like for like' hire car when it goes in for repair though............that'll be me in a 1.0L for the next week or so then

Try owning a car 4 hours and the engine deciding to seize and call it a day

Dont worry about it mate, i remember times like this with my polo and it depresses you sooooo much, but once its back up and running and looking mint! You'll lover her more than ever

Well, the polo went in to get its rear quarter repaired and I picked up my 'like for like' hire car................a chevrolet kalos 1.2 SE!

After driving down the the garage in the polo, stepping into the kalos was like swapping the hilton for a garden shed! The cheapness of this thing beggars belief and as for power, well, put it this way, I wont be overtaking anyone in it that's for sure!

I must admit though, after spending a day in it, its starting to grow on me!

I mean, its so unbelievably cheap and nasty that going out in it is a bit of a laugh! I almost feel sorry for the poor little bugger....... I think I'm going a bit mental!

Can't wait to get the polo back. I'm not half missing her..........

yeh its pretty cool riding in a car like that for a few days, because when you get the Polo back you'll appreciate it so much more!!

most definately, i remember not driving the polo for about 3months. and while i was on holiday i was driving battered suzuki's and hyundi's. when i stepped into polo after that it felt like solid luxury car like a merc/bentley

Think the whole experience has done me a favour to be honest.

I was seriously thinking about selling up and buying a civic type R or even a fiesta ST (has anyone had any experience of either of these cars?) because I wanted something a bit faster and I was starting to get a bit bored with the polo.

Now I've been reminded why I wanted the polo in the first place, I think I'll be keeping her for another year or two.

Type-Rs are nice, but very common!

I find STs a little laughable to be honest, never been a fan of any fiesta bar the RS turbo and mark 1

Just my opinion tho

one of the lads at work has a typr-r, he was suprised how well the GTI keeps up with it!!

They're 2 second or so faster 0-60 and have an extra 75 odd break HP.

Quite a margin

if im honest he was setting off and i was approaching in 2nd gear at about 3500rpm! i like to think i kept up well, which i did for a short while before the vtec kicked in and he pulled away!
