Few N00b Questions

Post by PHILIP1193 »

Hey Guys

Got my car car, pics will be up later this week and it has a nice black percent finish, what i thought were small chips was actually tar . Now i got an autoglym kit for xmas which contain tar remover but, when applied it doesn't seam to shift it.

So firstly what actually removes tar decently in terms of a product as i ahve 100's of little spots of it  .

Secondly can some on point me in the direction of a guide to using wax correctly on my car, ill buy some of this http://www.detailedobsession.com/catalo ... ucts_id=51 as it looks to be good on black cars. But not sure how i am ment to be properly using it. Cotton cloth to apply it then a microfiber cloth to polish it off i presume?

best thing i've found to remove the tar spots is my finger nail! carefully pick them off and then wash the car and see how that goes.

I have Autoglym Tar Remover also, not tried it yet though! lol

I have done as DanDiesel said on mums cars, does the job!

But for applying wax, you might find a foam applicator pad would be best

http://www.detailedobsession.com/catalo ... p?cPath=34

and then buffing off with a Micro Fibre as you say.

I've not used that sort of wax yet, only out the bottle stuff and Quick Detailer.

But when I've done mine and mates cars always just put it on in circular motion, but then I read somewhere that doing it in smooth straight runs along the car (if you get that) is best. I haven't tried that though.

Edit:

Also, you probably know this, but if you don't, then don't put too much on! nice thin layer (layers if you wish to build it up)

or it will be a b**** to get off!

not fun! lol

Gotta order myself some stuff for when better weather gets here.

hope that kind of helps! lol

But then, most things will come with Instructions/Recommended ways to Apply.
