also i installed my HID kit but it glares oncoming cars with the originall setting how can i lower the aim of the lights
will try to get some pictures up

Du have metallic paint?
If so they should've also painted the bonnet and side panels to blend the paint in,
Not sure how you could get it to match better sorry,
Lights:
If your system is anything like the GTi you'd have to get access to vagcom and tell the ECU that your about to adjsut the headlights, then manually do so on top of the lights,
the vagcom settings can be found here:

MK5 aint like the GTI, there is manual adjusters on the actual headlight, and your best getting your local garge to sort these, or you could just keep the beam at the lowest setting! Also to mention its not really the height but the Pattern that comes from the headlights which need sorted! Again a garge should be able to sort!
lool mine is only a one litre little thing, bought the HID conversion kit of ebay and MOT is due this friday so want to get the aim sorted, i suppose you get what you paid for i only paid £250 for the smoothing and im guessing for that kind of price they won't spray the bonnet and side panels (just hope it fades), im a bit confused on what you mean the pattern??
many thanks

Right it wont fail on the beam being to high! you can adkust in car with the little adjuster, as long as the lights work, then it should pass,
the pattern is the way the light is projected from the headlight, so if it is all over the place then this is what causes other motorists to flash you! but adjust them down and your fine!
Also you can have your lights as bright as you want! as long as there either yellow or white then there fine, there is a grey area on this however as if there found to cause un due dazzle to oncoming vehicles then thats the prob, but thats down to the indv driving the otehr side, and the coppers / MOT person, what one deems fine the other might not!

they are retro fit so its fine, i dont see where washers comes into it, as long as they are safe and working then they are fine, the only thing it would fail on is that the HL does not have a cover for the HID bulb to sit in, which the polos do, and nowadays the kits comes with these already on the bulb!!
I have passed all my MOT's and never had them adjusted or needed washers, and they havent been advisory either!

i cant say you will be fine and dont take my word for it, get them adjusted if you like and put it through an mot and seee, bouzel wrote:ok so i should be fine with them just get them adjusted which is possible anywhere nothing to difficult?

the reason i say that is every MOT'r is different, some will pass something pthers wont, depends who does it and what kind of perosn they are. All i'm saying is mine pass!
Do your xenon bulbs have shrouds so that light only comes out from a section of the the bulb?
If not, you're really going to struggle to get a pattern
My thinking on this is if you want xenons on a 6n2, the least you should really get projector headlights. But plenty of people on here with xenons in reflectors will disagree with me
