8" Wide + Offset 12 - Wheels are on :D Page 2 !

Post by sorted »

Alright Lads

Would i be able to get 8" wheels on the back of the GTI & 7 1/2" on the front? I think this makes the offset around 12!

195/45/15s on the 7 1/2" and 205/45/15s on the 8"... does anyone know if they would rub alot ? Would i DEFO need to get the arches rolled?

Neil

I've got 8js with 195/45s running all round, and they have an et of 25.

offset 12 may push it :?

I reckon with the larger tyre on the back and your current stance yes, you'll be looking at removing the plastic arch trims and rolling the arches.

I'm certainly planning on doing so when I come to lowering mine

i know its a totally different car, but i had ats cups with an et of 20 on my mk2 golf. needed to roll the arches to get it down to a decent drop on the coilies. think those wheels were 7j.

think you will definitly need to roll them with et of 12! , especially if you have a drop?

should look awesome though 8)

Job done stopped being a s**t bag and went and bought them. Should have them next week.

I can have the arches rolled for 100quid at a local place, so will get that done first, if its to no help - then possible flared rear arches at the same place discounted.

I will get pictures up when i have them on the car 8) hopefullllllllllllllly looking better than my last choice of wheels (Porsche Teledials)

Nice work, £25 a corner is a fair price too.

What wheels have you gone for then Neil? :)

awesome, cant wait for pics! £100 seems fair as i assume that involves sorting the paint if it splits? (mine did loads on the golf, but they probably have better equipment than my home made arch rolling tool! )

Yeah , thats only rolling though.. they said 150 if i want all four flared - so might just go with the extra 50 quid and be on the safe side - and will make it look better i hope 8) I will see when i get the wheels on then decide on what to do

Now , that would be telling Tim  there BBS 8)

They are silver the now, but i want the middle done black. Just getting some tyres with stretch so i can get them fitted on! 195/45/15s and 205/45/15s on the rear, so should look pretty good 8). The GTI is away on Sat for the tracking and camber to be setup correctly - after getting my polybushes fitted on Sat there  then on the 2nd April i should have a nice smooth boot done 8) it might be off the road for a while , as i want to sort a few more things in the engine and use my mates civic for a while
