new polo - no mats!

Post by andreac »

Hi all,

I just bought a brand new Polo 1.4 TDI but I didn't get any mats with it. First question- should the garage have given me mats or not?!

My brother gave me some mats that worked for the back seats, but not for the front (the ones he had didn't fit)

So I was wondering if anyone knew where the best place to get some front mats was and also how much they should cost?

Hopefully I posted this in the right place- there are a lot of forums! :)

Cheers, Andrea x

The garage are not obliged to give you mats, its an easy thing to get thrown in though.

Your best off just buying them from the dealers, theyre quite expensive though.

Only the GTI comes with mats as standard as far as I know. Mats are usually a netotiating point when buying the car.
VW dealers sell the mats but are pricey, Skoda Fabias and SEAT Ibizas share the same floor so their mats would also fit. There are loads of them on ebay but I have no experience of their quality. Justmatz.co.uk do reasonably priced custom mats and do forum discounts for some VW forums.

I've got some Skoda Fabia rubber mats that would fit and do as a temporary measure if you're interested. But then again where are you as they'd cost quite a lot to post? A wanted advert on here may yieid some results also as the earlier 9N Polos share the same floorpan.

You could try blagging them buy calling and saying the mats are missing and they may do them FOC but they are not obliged to do so. They are about £35 a set i think.

Thanks for all the ideas. Have sent an e-mail to the VW sales guy asking about mats, I'll see what he comes back with.

Otherwise I'll be trying a wanted advert, or possibly ebay. :)

I found some mats on ebay that are black with a pink heart motif, not quite what I was after, but cute nonetheless! :)

I've bought some mats off eBay before, They're good quality but they didn't quite fit :? May be worth investigating them properly before buying off there if you do.

Du mean you bought another set after purchase? Or the dealers gave you two by mistake?

Haha, I'd be well ticked off at that!

Yeh JustMatz are very good. I've got an order ready to be made through them (just waiting on funds). They'll do a great totally customised mat for you, will set you back around £60-70 though.
