1.4 FSI engine mods

Post by Mouse_GTI »

Just wondering if there is anything I can do to make my mums 1.4 FSI (86 PS) a little nippier without spending more than £100

Blow the tyres up a bit!! Octane booster will ensure it's running at it's most efficient too, this can make a bit of difference on FSI engines as they like expensive fuel.

FSI's like super unleaded - why not run it on Tesco 99 RON, Vpower or Ultimate and get a green panel filter.

Definately ought to make it slightly nippier. Also on start up leave the ignition on for 30 seconds or so until you hear a click & it goes quiet (throttle body resetting) then start. Trust me it feels more responsive (at least it worked on mine & old R32)

Pretty much what I was thinking lol, it was worth a try

I'll try to convince her to use V-Power, though it probably won't work. I shared the car with my mum before I bought my GTI and used V-Power on a weekend away, the car did run a little better on it and got 48 MPG
