No AM reception

Post by smokeGTI »

Hi there,

I have live without AM reception for years, :(
as I happened to replace my pioneer HU with some
newer SD card HU.

So I want to get it right this time!

As I know, some Jap's car has powered aerial to boost up the signal,
that needs to be connected to the HU's power attenna wire.

As the previous owner had cut off the original VW plugs,
so it's hard to chase it.
Anyone know if there is a power aerial wire on VW?
and what colour of that wire ?

Cheers.

(my ride is Polo 6N2 GTI)

You need an amplified aerial adapter similar to this which you can no doubt source locally, the blue wire connects to the antenna connection on the HU
