what air filter/induction kit?

Post by loud »

been lookin around but can't seem to find one specifically for it, do any 1.8t filters fit in the polo?

anyone recommend a good one and where to get it?

was lookin at the forge 007p and noticed they've released a newer dv with more blow off called the split-r... dunno how good it is though

Green, K&N and Pipercross do panel filters for the 1.8t. With the PD160 Intake pipe is a common mod.

The Splitter R dumps enough air back thro the air intake to stop the ECU throwing up any errors and dumps the rest to air so you have the annoying woooosh sound!! :x (My opinion only)

007p re-circs all the air.

Kenny, Does the FMCL007P and the spliter-r do the same job? was thinking of getting the 007p and a PD160 on mine,

Cheers

yeah they both do the same job in theory, but it depends what you want, the 007p is closed loop and so recirc's all the chagre air, where the split-r dumps some air and recircs some too, so in actual fact, the 007p is more efficient

the dump noise from the split-r is very much like the old rs turbo's i thought, and personally i would get fed up of it, so like many others, have opted for the increased reliability of the 007p, and no gay noise

why let on you have a turbo, just kill the opposition, take them by suprise
