advice needed

Post by brab »

hi, i have a saxo 1.1 forte on a 52 plate at the moment and was looking to buy a mk4 1.4 16v but carnt seem to find one any where. so i am considering a 1.4 8v, when modified ie. 4-2-1 manifold induction kit and remap, will it be as fast as a vtr, or has anyone done a 0-60 on theres if so how quick was it.
hope that makes sense lol

no,

the 8v will never be up to VTR speeds without stripping it out.

you need the 16v to get it faster than a VTR, keep looking - one will turn up 8)

^^ Seconded.

I had a 8v and when I moved upto a 16v it felt a world different. A 1.6 8v is on par with a 16v once stripped out as 'powerplant' used to ride along me in one ages ago. However, his was fully stripped with a ported/polished lump to help. So your best bet would be to get a 16v, a good ones hard to come by but hold out for one.
