Breather pipe issue when filling up...

Post by K.I.T.T. »

Read: http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=246852

Basically, I'm having the same issue in my car...always thought it had something to do with diesel pumps, but it takes bloody ages filling up! The other day I tried filling it to the top when the light came on, and the pump timed out ofter 25 litres and 6 minutes

What's the breather pipe and how do you clear it? Car's still under VW warranty for 6 more months by the way, but if it's a simple job I'll do it myself, as it's too much hassle taking it down to be looked at...

Cheers,
Ash :)

i cba to read that thread on talk audio.
but mine has the same problem to, but only ever anywhere BUT tesco.

i asked the woman if anyone at sainsburys had complained before and she said no, so i just though maybe it was like the different shapes and sizes of the nozel or something. lol

but like i said at tesco it is allways fine never done it.. wierd.

I'd have thought the ones that clicked had no tolerance on the filler nozzle so form an airtight seal and therefore they click when the pressure is too high.

never had an issue on mine though.
