Removing driver airbag

I have searched already and found out there are two wee screw holes behind the wheel with spring clips....ok so ive had a go at it and can i get it off - NO. I took the car down to a mates garage and he looks at it then says nah mate - it looks broke

has it been off before - so digs out the service history - turns out it has - for the same reason i want it off for

indicator stalk

so now that i cant get the air bag off to get the wheel off - is there any other way i can get the wheel off ?

Anyone any ideas / tips ?

Drive the car into a tree....the airbag will remove itself
