Hey I'm just about to purchase a 2006 gti and was wondering if there is anything I should look out for? any week parts ect?

hey and welcome to the forum mate!

good choice of car, but you'd be better off posting in the mk7 section as the new gti isn't the mk6.

haha tis alrite dude, VW have a weird system for marking their polo models anyway! it takes a while for most people to catch on
