The flexi hose, is the actual cold air intake. Without fitting that, all you're doing is taking in warm air from the engine bay.
It needs to be fitted, and then located to it gets a decent supply of cold air, but not too low down so it might take in water.

Out to the wing is a popular option, also down by the foglight, but not sure how effective the latter is

venom motorsport for 129.99 Then bought the 90 degree silicon bend from larkspeed. Hard to tell for performance improvment but i just bought it for the sound tbh, theres not alot of difference in first but when you get in to 2nd it starts to sound beefy. But not if thats because i havent fitted the cold feed pipe yet? Would that make a difference?

Definitely,. The BMC would probably perform worse than the standard box the way it's currently set up, all it's doing is sucking in hot air from the engine bay.

where did you lead your cold air feed to? where a fog light would normally be?? or something liek that?
also are you just after sound more than anything?

Well if you're only after sound leave the cold air intake off.
But if you're actually after spending money to try and make some performance difference, leave it on...
