Calling all old boys still on this site, I need your help!

Post by JTLondon »

Hi, I havent been on this site in ages and seeing if anyone who remembers seeing this car and bumpers remember who's car it is.

Hmm... having some problems with the img tags... so heres the link if it doesnt work. http://img188.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 1367de.jpg

I've just had an accident and need a new bumper, so might aswell change to one I like, if the price is right. But first I need to know where I can get one of these from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

looks like a mk5 bumper merged with a mk4 one, guessing it's a custom bodyshop job

Yeah, the guy who's car is in that pic, bought it off a guy who was making them. So if I know who's car it is, I can ask him :)

Sorry for a ridiciously long time to reply.
Whats your progress on this bumper? I've emailed the company that does them but its all in German and I'm waiting for a reply.

If this is a dublicated thread, please could one of the mods merge it or if you could just link your topic here LeMeph.
Where are u based btw?

And yes.. the pic links are no longer there... I just remember that he had Boxster Rims... as in the text.

im in eastlondon/essex. Dont think this is a proffesional job mind im infamous for ballsing things up lol.

All you need though is an 8v 6N bumper a full 6N2 bumper. You measure up cut the 6N2 bumper and then get happy with poprivets and fibreglass. People recommend plastic welding but tis expensive and an arsehole to do yourself. Atleast thats what ive found.

Bodge it in whatever man you deem nessesary. Well thats my attitude atleast so dont take ym word on it sir lol.

East London yeah? Cool.
I'm in Hackney myself. I was thinking of heading down to GSF Car parts in Chadwell Health for some new brake pads aswell.

Yeah, my car is pretty fuckd... I've mashed up my bumper and need a new one now.
But I hear people say the bottom half of the 6n2 bumper is wider than the 6n so might not be as easy to do. *shrugs shoulders*

Actually, BECAUSE its wider, it should be easier to fit.
But you might need to make a bracket inwards so the part of the bumper closest to the wheel arch can bolt onto the chassis.
You might need to put abit of excess fibreglass/filler and sand down so that the bumper appears smooth.
But how would you attach the lower bumper to the original 6n main bumper?

Do apologise massively for not replying... I remember reading your reply which I thank alot for. Then I had problems and trying to get my car serviced and MOTd took priority.
Basjuh, would you be able to ask them how much it cost to get made?

the 6N2 bumper is a sinhgle piece bumper. So theres only one piece to attach to the original 8v bumper.

I have decided to pop rivet the f****r on and use copius amounts of fibreglass to compensate for the nipple like bums that it will leave behind.

I havent touched it for ages so i really need to sort it before i get the car on the road.
