wheels stuck on help

Post by MTB »

:D Hi all, i took the nuts off my rear alloy wheels to fit my new wheels, the problem i had is that the wheel wont budge at all, ive tried pulling it and kicking it as hard as i can but it still wont budge. I know your wheels sometimes stick to the hub with rust, but this is taking the biscuit, any idea how i get the wheel off?, thx all :D .

Loosen all the bolts, though not too much and just roll steadily up and down your drive or street. Then make sure you put some copper grease on the face of the disc or hub when you put them back on.

yeh make sure of copper grease when you fit back on

also try spraying some wd40 around where the wheel is stuck, this may help loosen it

it's called electrolytic corrosion, very common with alloy wheels onto to steel hubs, like Adam suggested when you put the wheels back on use Copper grease.
