Can front disks be used on the rear?

Post by alexperkins »

Hi All

Following a proposed G60 upgrade, I was wondering If i can fit the front disc brakes (using the front carriers) to the rear so I can have some better looking, better performing brakes on the rear

Anyone ever upgraded their rears?

Cheers

I'm thinking of upgrading my rears, but purely for looks. The standard discs are pathetically small

I've always thought this myself. Will the handbrake not affect it?

It's only really worth doing for looks, as the actual amount of braking done by the rear is pretty low.

But if you get it working, then I'm sure it'll look good.

Yeh it's definitely for looks. IMO the 280mm G60 front brake upgrade are too really. That's why I put that mod to sleep when I bought my Monos

If you have the right pad setup and all that, it will give you slightly better braking performance anyhow :P

no u can fit front calipers on the rear unless u want 2 buy and add a handbrake mini caliper aswell!!

if the g60 rear disks are bigger then i cant c why u can use them as the use the same type of caliper!!

Think about it mate, i'm not saying it aint possible or is possible, but the back is Disc and pads, all that has been asked is if you can fit bigger Items than stock.

and you wouldn't be able to just fit bigger discs as they would be too big for the standard calipers.
