Might want to try posting this in the markV section mate, 6N2 = markV 8) .

Short answer - No. 16X9 is a bit ambitious on a 6N2 without serious arh work

It really depends on what offset they are and what size tyres you run.

What ride height are you planning on running?

I believe 15X8 is the largest you can go without any arch work.

That is what I currently ride, with an offset of 25. I get no hassle what so ever, but I ride standard height and stretched tyres. When I get the stance I want on my car I know I'll get scrubbing left right and centre.

You can run 15X8 offset 25 with 195/45s tyres no problem.

You could probably run 8.5s with the same tyres and offset also though.
