6n Door Handle!

Other day my drivers side central locking broke. Took it apart to find that bolt inside had sheared. Swapped it over with the passenger side one as it would of been a pain running round to lock. Went to the scrappys and got a new one for free as i met my m8s dad who knows the boys in the place well lucky!! Only problem is that my new one for the passengers side has a different lock. Tried to swap the barrels over but i cant seem to get it out. Not really a big issue but does any1 know if there is a way to get the barrels out of the handle without breaking? ? ?

if theyre the same as the mk5's theres a brassy colour kinda u clip that goes across the barrel that holds it in place which u have to remove witha screw driver or something then u can remove the barrel but obviously u have to get one for ur key not just e one will work. when u do it be careful not to make n e thing sring out of place........... i hope its the handles im thinking of and not the boot mechanism....

You need to remove the paddle (the bit with the spring round, looks like a spade), then slide off the bit of metal with another spring on, which sits on the end of the barrel, you should then be able to slide the barrel straight out!

Yeah mine has broken too, need to get one of these soon as I don't want to risk not getting into the car.
