FAO anyone with VAG-COM in the London/Surrey area

Hey guys, after installing cruise control in my car yesterday, I now need to have in activated. As I don't have VAG-COM and I don't really want to pay VW to do it, I was wondering if anybody living in the areas I mentioned would be willing to do it for me? Id really appreciate it

I've recently acquired the VAG-COM cable from ebay, I've had a scan and read fault codes on my car but i dunno how to do anything else. You're welcome to have a go and in return all I ask is what size spline tool i need to get the steering wheel nut off? I am based in south london, but am currently out of town til next week ish.. PM me if you're interested.

Hey mate, thanks for the offer but afaik the version of VAG-COM that you get with those cables isn't good enough to enable cruise control I may be wrong though.

You need an M12 spline drive tool, which can be purchased from here: http://www.shacktools.com/sykespickavan ... -1590.html to remove the steering wheel

Do you know what needs to be changed via VAG-COM eg is it a coding thing or changing adaptation? If you could let me know, I can try it on my car to see if it is feasible to enable cruise control with my cable.

Taken from a guide to fit cruise control on a Fabia:

Enable Cruise Control Using VAG-COM -

Connect your OBDII lead to the car.

Switch on the ignition and start VAG-COM

Carry out a full check for stored error codes, note and reset any that you find.

You will need to ensure that your Board Network Controller is suitable for Cruise Control. Open the controller 09 and ensure it is either 6Q0 or 6Q1 and not 6Q2.

Open controller 01, when it logs in you should, in the upper right corner, see either OOOOSG if cruise isn't enabled or GOOOSG if cruise is enabled.

To enable cruise, choose option 11 Log In and enter the code 11463.

Close the controller, then open the controller again and confirm that GOOOSG is shown. You can also confirm by starting the car, stopping it and then scanning for codes on controller 01. You should have a fault code logged which reads something like cruise control system signal implausible. Clear the code and put your VAG-COM away.

ok, well it sound like it is possible with my vag-com, but i haven't been able to check as my laptop died recently...

have you had any luck activating it?

Hey mate, should have let you know this, but flyfs6 did it for me the weekend before last
