when i have my sub on after a while it cuts out, then comes back on.
as if the battery had died and once got a bit of charge started again, does this all ttime.
i'm sure its not the battery as half an hour with it on whilst driving youldn't drain it.
any one have a clue?
it's a fli 12" active btw

Loose power cable at the battery or amp? Or possible split in the wires?

no because the cables are fine, it also did it in my old car.
could it be anything to do with it like overheating, so switching off to cool a bit?

Could be overheating.. is the amp getting enough air circulation? Or could be a fault within the amp itself.
Are you running it UBER loud?

i only have the gain and bassboost halfway. and not really that hard/loud
i'm guessing its got a bi-mettalic strip nd cuts out when to hot..

That's probably exactly it mate, alot of amps have an automatic turn off if they get too hot to stop them from getting damaged.
How have you got it setup? Have you any pics?

Where have you it earthed to?it can cut out all of a sudden if its not earthed properly. if its on the seatbelt bolt it has to be clamped in tight and the bolt has to be clean and i sanded mine down a bit

I had this problem before too, it turned out to be the amp. My guess would be a short inside the amp itself which produces an over current, then the amp justs cuts itself out to save itself. It just happened from time to time but its whileeee annoying! I would suggest buyin a cheap second hand amp at around the same rms and just swap them over.
