Forge FMIC Dyno Results

Post by Jeff GTi »

so in order to make it a fair test, this morning at 6am i took off my pipercross viper induction kit, and re fitted my green filter, with the stock airbox before going to awesome gti at half 8

so now the only mod since me having the car APR stage 2'd is the front mount from forge

results from the front mount with stage 2 are as follows

torque - remained much the same, with only a very small change here

power - gained 12 bhp peak and more power through the midrange, to the sum of approx 20 bhp in the region of 4250 revs up to 5000 revs, then gained approx 25 bhp from 5000 revs up to 7250 revs

the graph also shows the car holding on to the peak power for nearly 200 rpm more at the top too

bhp @ 3000 rpm = 153
bhp @ 4000 rpm = 198
bhp @ 5000 rpm = 218
bhp @ 6000 rpm = 220
bhp @ 7000 rpm = 209

max = peak bhp = 223.13 bhp @ 5277 rpm
peak torque = 272 ft/lb @ 2981 rpm, ever so slightly less, but comes in a little sooner, so you dont feel a difference

so it would seem the car is not having issues breathing as initially thought, but was suffering badly from the stock intercooler, so for stealth seekers, the pd160 intake with green pannel filter is plenty sufficient for stage 2 software

the car did however have s small oil leak which has now been located and fixed, one of the stupid vw style crush to clamp clips had not been put on correctly from the factory on the oil breather, so consequently, it has made its way slowly down the back of the engine over time

this was an easy fix costing me a massive £0.65 for a jubilee clip to replace the original hose clamp with and 5 mins of my time to clean up the breather and hose surrounding area

so all in all very pleased, hope my finding proove useful, couple more photos from the morning are below

haha, yeah i bully it, but only because it keeps screaming for more, it loves it, im over the moon with the results, always wanted to crack the 220 bhp barrier, may look at gerring the cup airbox, as i believe its different? bigger? smoother?

and kenny, leaving the pd160 on with green filter now mate, works well and it stealthy too
