what fuel should i be using in the gti do i have to use v power or bp ultimate or is just standard petrol fine?
also if using preium petrol any recommendations?

Anything will work...
The more modded you go the geater need for good fuel..
Tesco 99 Ron is OK and not too expensive

personally i use v power, have done from day 1, and always will
the petrol cap warning advises 98 ron fuel or more, so thats gonna be all the main branded super unleaded fuels, like the below
tesco 99 ron
sainsburys super unleaded
bp ultimate
shell v power

i've only ever used v power in my gti.
still waiting to get some money off vouchers from the v power club points.

From long term experience it runs best on Tesco 99. I'd otherwise run it on Vpower or non super market unleaded. Urban myth leads to believe there can be issues with cheap super market unleaded.
99 Ron is an exception.

No it doesnt! It says 95ron/98ron

mine just says min ron 95 in the cap no mention of 97ron?? anyway i use whatever is nearest but always 97ron or higher , mainly tesco rocket fuel 99ron, put that in my mates megane 225 and it blew a boost pipe LOL

Yeah maybe mine just says 95ron too. Either way it doesnt say 98ron or above! Mine seems to run well on ordinary Shell fuel, dont really see any benefit from premium unleadeds.

only use cheapest fuel after the remap it drinks like a horse! but no problems yet

mine drinks like horse but, with 99ron it does last alot longer than 95ron, also try not booting it LOL

Did try BP ultimate once, but tbh didn't notice much from the 1.4.
Saying that my Mum's Merc Kompressor loved the stuff and flew in sport mode..!

that last little passage is bloody interesting... german performance cars eh.. with bosch or siemens management... what are most us in the gti's running? lol
