APR R1 Dump Valve

Post by KennyPOLO_Gti »

AFter installing my DV on sat i noticed a "Honning" noise coming from the engine when the turbo was kicking but only really noticed it when I was driving the car easy and it wasnt all the time.

Anyway, removed the DV tonight after work and the noise seems to of gone. Anyone shed some light on why it was making that noise? The Dv appears to be ok

fair play mate, but they have their 'characteristics' too, mine could not hold the boost my car is producing and meant it was dumping as i was under load, giving an on off on off feeling with acceleration, something i dont have with the new R1 in place

Jeff - On/Off feeling more ecu pulling things back like timing and boost..

Remember the 1.8T in the Polo can open the DV whilst you are on full throttle thanks to the N249.. and also partly close the throttlel plate...

With FMIC you can run more advanced timing... sounds like your car is now happier...

I've had the 007p with standard spring running 1.5 bar boost - holds no problem - having said that so can a standard bosch 710N

Just how I see it... J

Just thought that it must have been that as after the front mount it was still happening, up to when i changed it for the r1

may well not be and be something completely different though
