clutch noise

Post by Petrol_Head »

My friends polo makes a soft clicking noise when he puts his foot down on the clutch.

What is it??? and what should it cost to be fixed?

If he can feel/hear an awkward squeek then there's excessive force on the pedal bo which is going to break on day if not fixed. Could be, gearbox, heavy clutch or cable.

sound like it sould be a cheap clutch kit. Is it the original? And does it happen when the engine is hot and cold?

From what he said to me, it happens continuously when he drives his car.. so I presume its when the engine is hot and cold.. but not 100 percent sure on that.

He said its a quiet noise, which is a repetitive clicking sound?????

I've spoken to a Vw mechanic who was good at replacing an engine head gasket for me... he thinks it needs a new clutch.. which hes saying would be £250.. parts and labour included, as I'v never played around with a clutch, I'm not touching this.. but anyone got any clue on what could be the reason behind this and what would fix it???

My 6n 1.6 produces a 'clicking' noise every so often. It goes when you drepress the clutch. I was thinking either release bearing or clutch assembly.
