Right these can not be fixed, as they are rubber, and if split need new ones, your best going to VW if you need to get sorted for monday, the price ia int got a clue, and also try Euro car parts or something, and these aint easy to replace if you don't know what your doing, so find a decent mechanic to do!

yeh it is the rubber bushes which are split and i am gonna get a mechinic to fix them for me. vw are going to charge me £400 inc vat to do this. which is why i need to know where to get these from so i get my mechanic friend to do it cheaper for me.

£400 - tell them to bolt, you can buy uprated Poly bushes, for the whole front end (Front & Rear of Front) for £70 - the parts won't be dear, just the labour, so ask only how much the parts are!

I'm not sure if this is the approach - which Poly bushes do you have in mind? The usual way to sort the TCAs (wishbones) out on these cars is to fit Seat Ibiza Cupra TCA rear bushes as they are solid. The Powerflex ones, AFAIK are still only bush inserts that fit into the normal voided TCA rear bushes to stiffen them up a bit - but they tend to fall out and are useless if your normal voided bushes have already torn a bit. So to sort this out once and for all, get Cupra TCA rear bushes fitted - the small TCA front ones might still be okay if you have been sensible and changed the TCA rear ones as soon as they failed.

The big labour charge associated with getting this work done is due to having to drop the crossmember and then setting the four wheel geometry up again. It is possible that an indep VAG specialist might have the aftermarket tooling to change these bushes in situ and so save a bit of money - but either way a full four wheel re-alignment is always a good idea now and again with these cars as it means you will get the best out of what you have and the tyres should last longer. Where do you live - there is a guy in MK that can sort these things out at a sensible cost, but can not do four wheel re-alignment.

BTW, I'm guessing that (because of the £400 charge) you have an 9N Polo - if so what really is the problem with the ARB - is it not that the ARB is "old style" with plastic end stops and they have failed - so that ARB is finished. If all that is correct then I'd reckon that you could get all this work done at the same time - both jobs require the dropping of the crossmember - genuine parts costs should cost about £120 - maybe you should get the drop links changed as well as they are problematic and quite cheap.
