Headlight adjuster motors

Does it matter which headlight adjuster motors I get?? I was at VW yday checking prices and apparently thers 2 types AL and Valeo.

Ive got FKs in atm but im going to put my orig lights in when ive finished painting them but they dont have the motors in so im gunna fit them before I put them back in. Is it the wire with the flat white end that plugs into the motors??

The Valeo and AL are just brands - different production batches use different brands

So will it make a difference with one i use?? It doesnt say on my headlight casing which brand they are.

whe i got the car it didnt have adjustor motors in but has the wiring for them, so im guessing theyve been taking out and forgot to put them back in

Normally suggests either your car didnt have them - what trim level is it? (E, SE, S etc)

or its been front ended, and they are replacement headlights

It doesnt matter which brand you choose. More likely to be valeo tho

Have a look on the rubber caps you have to take off to change the bulbs I know mine say valeo

Just checked mine say Valeo aswel. But does this mean i cant use AL, if thats all the breakers yard had?? or am i best buying new??

As said before, VW use different manufactures to make the same parts. For example some window motors are made by bosch, others by valeo, and others by in some cases, hella

You can use any brand, so long as it fits and is designed for the car its going to be fitted to.

Cheers, i'll just take the lights with me and plug them in when i get the motors to make sure they work.

I think that there are Euro rules that now say (and have done for the past 10 years maybe) that any new cars must have easily adjustable (motorised) headlight beams to drop the lights (from the driver's seat) if the car is loaded down at the rear to prevent dazzling oncoming drivers. So that means that getting these motors fitted is a must not an option - strange that someone sold that car in that state!

Anyone got a pic of the back of their headlights?? Just so i can see what the motor looks like??

When you remove the 3 covers form the back of the headlight, does the motor fit in the middle 1??
Just that theres a wire there on mine that isnt connected to anything, so just thought that could be the wire for the motor....??
