Alloys and lowering
Hi there everyone. I have bought a 6N and im looking at alloys to buy. I have decided to get 195/45's from reading some of the other topics, cheers! But im looking at 16's, Rota or lenso, and have a question, the width of the rim is 7" , Would these fit without having to make any changes to anything?
And what would be a decent size to lower? I was thinking of getting lowering springs around the 40mm as I wont be able to afford coilovers just yet. Cheers!

For 16", get 195/40 tyres mate, esp. on 7j wide wheels.
40mm isn't a big drop, I'd look at going at least 60. It's up to you though.
Here's a 60mm drop on 15":

And what looks like a 40mm drop on 15s:

Because you'll need a lower profile on 16 wheels (40, as appose to 45 normally on 15s), the arch gap is likely to be very similar

Lol yeah I see what you mean. What does anyone think and rate of these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RACELAND-ADJUST-C ... 240%3A1318
Raceland coilovers look to be fine, however they have a very limited adjustment travel. So if you want to go lower than the 70mm max, you have to get a new set of coillies! Buy a set that will go at least 100mm & future-proof yourself, 'cos once u've dropped it down, you know it won't be enough!
Try these, good for the price, & I think same as ones Tim uses on his GTI. Try an offer around the £150-160 mark & you will be rewarded with a cheap set of shiny coilovers!
HotTuning Coilovers for 6n
(same company offers them on auction style ebay listing for a £165 start, so must make money at that price, plus I know they have accepted £150-160 for 6n coillies!)

I was thinking of getting FK coilover's but there about £100 more. Might wait on getting them cause I put it down as a mod on insurnace to see what it would come out and it slammed on a extra £1000!!!! Thats the only thing that is stopping me. I can get my s/s exhausts system and everything else I wanna do and it hardly goes up, hmmmm.
