Been looking around on ebay for a turbo chip.
They look petty cheap and a "scam"
can anyone recommend a good cheap way to make my 1.6 mk4 quicker?
thanks
mike

Induction kit - £50-160
Manifold - £150 plus fitting at approx £100
Full catback - Anything from £200-600
Induction kit. Every car has some sort of air filter, whether it be a box, or panel etc.. An after market air filter or induction kit is used to increase airflow into the engine. they are normally found in a cone or cylindrical shape with an air feed pipe to acompany.
Manifold. The link between your exhaust and engine. A stainless steel 4-2-1 manfiold increases mass flow out of the engine to the exhaust
Full catback. usually stainless steel again. In all fairness a straight through cat-less system would be lot better. This is your exhaust system. Removing the cat, and with a bigger bore means it's less restrictive.
All this combined (when done right) can increase torgue and performance figures. And also alter the sound of your engine considerably.
It's also an idea to have the engine remapped to tell the ECU of the engine modifications so it can performe at it's best.

^^ The manifold shouldn't cost as much. 16v Raceland manifolds are currently arouund £120 at show stands etc so expect slightly less perhaps for the 1.6.
PLEASE STAY AWAY from the ebay boost-car cleaning-eco-fan-chippy gadgets lol.
