Got a New Toy!!!

Post by Tim_GTi »

It was my 21st Birthday yesterday.

And my parents did me well 8):

Had a play round with it today (after de-freezing the pipes and hose), not bad for a first go:

I need to get the dillution right, I emptied 400ml in two goes, which can't be right :?

Gets the car uber clean, I only needed one load full of buckets with the mitt after.

A nought special after pic, my numberplate was still on and it needs to come down at the back so i didn't make the effort:

I got the heavy duty foam lance pictured at the top of the page from elite car care. It fits onto the nozzle of your power washer. Then used 400ml of the stock snow foam solution you get with it. Best £45 you'll spend IMO (and if you have a powerwasher of course)!

I love using snow foam, I get such looks from passers-by when I do our four cars at once :D

I use the cheap karcher foam lance from Halfords but that lance looks like a proper bit of kit, pity I've already sent off the santa list

How much concentration would you say you use per car load?

Oh, I've tried all sorts of shampoos and mixes. I started using NXT shampoo in about a 25% mix, which which was quite good but too expensive.

For the snow foam I have now, no brand just from a local guy, about 20% I suppose. I think it depends on how powerful your powerwasher is anyway

I reckon your one foams a lot better than mine, especially since you can adjust it at the top

Yeh I found myself turning the knob on tp til it was toned right down, as it was kicking out pretty fast.

So when you say 20% du mean you fill the bottle up around 20%?

20% shampoo, 80% hot water goes into the bottle. That's about twice as strong as what I've read people with proper lances use --> http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=16701

I tend to turn my powerwasher right down too, I'd say it's possible to get ok results by attaching a lance straight to a ordinary garden hose, if the mains water pressure is fairly strong

I thought you were a lot younger too, don't know why

Smashing bit of kit that, I might be very tempted to get this.

Car looks mint as usual 8)
