Alarm goes off when i disconnect battery.

As title says, im trying to replace my nearside headlight bulb and I need to remove the battery. However when i disconnect the negative terminal the alarm goes off. I tried disabling the alarm by pressing lock twice on the key fob, but that didnt work.

Any suggestions?

Hhmm that's weird. Is it a factory alarm? And does it not turn off after 30 seconds or so?

Aftermarket alarms are supposed to do this as it believes someone is tampering with the vehicle. My clifford alarm does exactly the same thing, as aftermarket alarms usually have a backup battery incase a intruder tries to turn off the alarm by disconnecting the battery (hence it wont work and the alarm will still go off).
