has anyone done this? If so how difficult is it, im thinking about painting the surrounds of the heaters to match the car. (reflex silver) has anyone got pictures/guide on how to do it. Ive got a haynes manual so i can follow to remove it all.
any help will be apprecaited.

Re: 6n2 interior painting?
It would be exactly the same as painting anything, except you use plastic primer.
Clean, prepare and sand down areas
Prime 2-3 coats of plastic primer
2-3 coats of reflex silver
2-3 of thick laquer, try and avoid paint runs. But you only get true shine when thick layers are applied
Between each coat, you want to be lightly sanding down with 1200 wet grit paper.

not a good look IMHO plus it will make your car much harder to sell on when the time comes

Re: 6n2 interior painting?
Agreed also. The only alternative finish to OEM I would opt for would be the piano gloss black finish that the clocks trim on the GTi use.JPR_polo_gti wrote:not a good look IMHO plus it will make your car much harder to sell on when the time comes

I would, but you can get a special finish on them in Piano black, I can't remember the process but it gets them looking like the OEM lip on the GTi clocks. BIG RHYS was talking to a guy at a show about them.6n2 Nathy wrote:yeah kipper thats what i was going for?

Best pic I could find:

notice the lip on top of the trim above the clocks.
Here's some more colour coding, it's too much IMO
