Camshaft Cover Gasket ???? Mk4 16v

Hiya All,

My motor is using oil, after a pressure test, its leaking from the Cam Cover.

I've tried to order a CAM Cover Gasket but can't find them anywhere. Anybody know if you can get them or is it just a case of silcone sealant on the 16v's ?

You should easily get them from a vwspares place, I got one recently, no problems it took a day to get in stock, alternative is to try a gasket sealent.

eurocarparts should have it on the shelf. Normally listed as Rocker Cover Gasket

Gutted, went too fit the new gasket last night and as it turns out, some of the 16v's has it where you could replace the gasket where as others had the gasket kind of welded ti the rocker cover (mine appeared to be the latter) so I had to bodge it with loctite instant gasket silicon !!

Oh well, saved myself £15 cos I can return it to VW now !!
