Polo E bumper trim

Post by powlow »

Hi, I just passed my test and took delivery of my Polo today, I had to get the E for a number of reasons but mainly because it worked out cheaper.
I like the car, except for the lack of electric windows and the horrible bumper trims and was basically wondering if anyone had successfully replaced the black ones with body coloured ones.

Also, does anyone know what the differences are between the older one and this one apart from the new steering wheel?

Thanks

the best thing to do is get the ones you have on it at the mo off and get them two part primed and then sprayed. its cheaper than buying the already primed ones from vw.
its a fairly easy job, i'm getting mine done while its in the shop getting the front repaired.

I think it was basically this change to the steering wheel shape:

I don't think the double din stereo was a change in this model though.

i dunno lol. i'm having to have the whole front of my car redone because i hit a deer so its costing in total about a grand.
but i do know i was quoted over 300 quid just for the replacement primed strips from vw. and thats before spraying.

Bloody hell, I might just stick to the black trim for a while then, the wing mirrors and door handles would still stick out anyway - should've gone with black.

Guess I'll just wait till I hit a deer lol

I'm in your boat too buddy. I have a black Polo though - but *I know* those bumper strips are there and not pearly black. :(

It annoys me. . it also makes it harder to wax and they turn white and require elbow grease if you accidently wax them. :(

I was seriously contemplating getting my strips done but wouldn't really know how to go about it. £300 wouldn't be that bad if that was them painted and fitted SE style. :(
