Hi I have a 1998 1.6 6n 8v which I bought a month ago, I had it fully serviced cambelt, waterpump, fluids, etc and asked the mechainic to throughly check the car. It came back OK. my problem is I live in Wellington, NZ which is notorious for steep hills so I was recently going up a particularly steep one so i put the car in second the car gradually lost revs so I put my foot down expecting it to kick down to 1st it would not I had to manually change to 1st, I dont know if this is normal with this gearbox, but if I put it in 3rd and kick it down it goes down to second same story in drive if its in fourhtn it will kick down to 3rd or second it just wont kick down from 2nd to 1st. Is this a problem with the box or just normal for that car, any feedback much appreciated. Thanks Tim NZ
