Post by astraquattro »

My 1986 1.4 CL has developed a fault with the immobiliser and i need to get a new one ( as i cant bypass the immobiliser altogether ) so if i buy a secondhand unit will i need to get the matching ECU aswell, does anyone know or hd this problem before, Lee

You will be better to buy a new Immobiliser from VW they are about £90 you need to geve them your vin number & the number on the immobiliser box you can then just replace it . If you buy a S/H immobiliser you will have to buy the Key coil pick up & the ECU to go with it and i am sure that lot will cost more than a new immobiliser . Tony
