Post by ppuaar_polosport »

i got a flat today from a monster screw.

they are 15 inch wheels. jus wondering what tyres are best and what is lowest profile i could get on them without them lookin odd
the car isnt lowered as of yet lol

i think they are 195/55/R 15

toyo proxies. grippy as all hell. great tyre for the price.
for profile 195/45s would look nice but i think they would mess with your speedo a bit.

Another vote for the Toyos...or even the Kumhos.

If you have Costco membership then Michelin Pilots are VERY good!

I take it that you mean the Pilot Exaltos? That is what I put on my wife's car (and yes at Costco!).

I think that VW seemed to be a bit confused when they used these 15" wheels, some - mainly petrol engined Polos, got 195/55s but the 1.4 TDIs seemed to get 195/50 - there is not much in it rolling radius wise.

If getting Michelins keep away from the Primacy HPs - "HP means High performance" was what I was told - but they have very soft sidewalls and do not give much confidence in a heavier car (like my Passat V6 4Motion) - wish I had stuck with Dunlop SP ?000 - the directional ones!

I am running dunlop sport maxx 205/45*16 which are pretty good nice and quite good braking ability and grips well both wet and dry, I also run a winter set which have sport contacts 1 on them again 205/45*16 I find these tyres noisy nut the grip is well brilliant especially in the wet.

I've run BF Goodrich Profiler Sports, Yoko Paradas and Avons on my 17s.

The best by far were the BF Goodrich - the Paradas and Avons both slip a lot more and wear quicker. I do not recommend the Yokos at all.

The originals (15s) were Firestones and these were pretty damn good too - anything high end should be good. Bridgestone Turanzas have always been good to me in the past although tend to wear quite quickly.
