interior lights

my brother has just bought an 05 reg golf gti (beatiful) and i noticed that it has two leds one on each side underneath the glove compartment, i wondered, does anyone know if or how these could be fitted to a polo, they come on when the doors are opened and go off when the doors are shut.

You need to setup a circuit that is triggered when the doors open, so draw it from the current interior light or something. Then LEDs obviously and resistors for the LEDs.

Something I'm gunna do when I get round to it, and work out where to draw the power from exactly without impairing the current light.
