straight swap

am i right in thinkin i can swap block 4 block.

it is a mk5 1.4 16v 75bhp and engine is knackered can i take block out then put new 1.4 16v 75bhp back in.

ive done it on my mk2 golf put the 2l block in from mk3 but kept all 1.8 fuel system. any help would b great.

So the new block is exactly the same spec as the old one?

yeah same engine code.

i mean whole engine not block.
