limited on lowering

contacted insurance today and they said I can't drop my car more then 49mm and I was thinking about gettin coilies and it's an extra 120 quid to declare them. I haven't bought the coilies yet but I wanted to go lower. any advice as if I should still go for them?

alot of companies are like that... my mate declared his air ride and they asked how low is it nd he went adjustable and they went but how low is it set at.. he said it goes alll the way up... and alllll the way down and they said does it go more than 50...ermm nope lol


i would say yes... it is well worth buyin coilies insurance purposes... not sure on as mine arent declared till end of july when my renewal is here but looks wise the coilovers are always gonna be better i thought my car looked good on springs... man was i wrong lol

be careful as my insurance got voided for beeing to low! they wiggled out of everything, ending having to pay 2.5k to repair my mk5 polo gti, then sell it as i couldnt afford to run it, then pay his excess (the chap that crasched into me) loads of other gear aswell like £800 recovery bill(it was a specialist job because of how low it was etc) so be careful!!!!!! or you'll be out of pocket big time

My insurance just said to me is it lower than 50mm? I was like I dont know I havn't measured it. They said thats fine. Turns out I am about 100mm down at the front. I dont know if they would pay out or not?

Coilovers are adjustable, what's to stop anyong winding them up a tad before an insurance body were called out if anyone ever experienced a crash

lol like your thinking !... mines probs down around 100mm if not more and if experiance a slight bump thats what im doing
