Hi, im looking to get some alloy wheels, and was told if i dont change the bolts, it could be dangerous.
My question, is that there are bolts and nuts.
Which does my car use?
I have a 6N2. Thanks.
Oh, and what are the standard size rims to.

You don't need to change your bolts just because you change you wheels.
The only reason you'd need to change your bolts is if you are using spacers and need longer bolts, or adaptors etc...
Standard wheel size varies depending on what model you have. do you have a picture of your car?
when looking for wheels, these are the measurements you want to look out for:
4X100 PCD: this is the stud pattern. Basically meaning the wheels have four bolt holes, all of which 100mm apart when measured from centre to centre of each diagonal hole.
57.1mm centre bore: this is the size of the big hole in the middle of the wheel. If the wheel has a bigger bore, you can get 'spigot rings' which help them fit properly.
15" or 16" in size: these fit best on the mark 5 Polo.
5-8" in width: this is pretty much the margin for width on the mark 5 Polo.
Offset or ET: This always given to you as a number ET25. This tells you how much the wheels stick out, the lower the figure, the more they stick out. Standard offset ranges between 35-45.

They're 13" wheels if I'm not mistaken! I'd personally look at some 15" wheels for it. 16"s suit well too, or if you want to rock a really low stance, go with 14"s
