Help!! Need tips on using Touch Up pens.

Post by Bouff »

Got a few stone chips that I need to repair. Whats the best way to apply/finish the touch up paint? Don't want to be left with lots of paint "dabs"

Thought about applying it and then rubbing it down with T Cut but, as it's pearlised paint, will this leave me with a dull patch??

Any hints/tips greatly appreciated.

Bouff.

Hmm, the only decent results I've had have been with a new Halfords Touch up pen that has a needle end, not just a brush.

You need to apply a thin layer of paint into the chip, using the needle, then let it dry, apply another thin layer to build it up, but still within the chip itself.

Once you've built up enough layers, apply a couple of layers of laquer until it sits flush with the surrounding paint.

It's hard to get right, but at least it won't look an arse.

Either that or give Chipsaway a call.

But then do you blend it in with T-Cut? :?
