Front fogs / grill

Post by pvr »

On the 2001 Match that I am collecting this week, there are no front fog lights. Besides the dealer, is there a supplier where the lights + switch / cables etc can be bought from as a kit?

Failing that - any idea how much the kits at the dealer are (assuming they exist).

Thanks.

I'm not aware of a kit. Think you have to buy all the bits needed seperatly.

It'll be the fog grills foglights and light switch that you'll need. IIRC the fog wiring is wired throughout all 6N2s.

Check out eBay and other car forums, but the dealers is your only bet really after that.

Thanks guys, I have looked around and found the whole "kit" for £79.

Grill bits / lamps and lightswitch. Guess I will need to get the bulbs, not a bad price though I thought.

Thanks for the tip re the bulbs. Interesting that the Haynes manual state that they are H3. I have some H7 spare anyway.

I bought the entire kit, so that includes the grill bit but thanks for the offer anyway.

Yeh they're definitely not H3. I heard they were when I first bought my car, but had to buy twice!

All installed and working now, great improvement for little money.

Got it all from veedubmachine.co.uk.

Took me 15 minutes in total. The light switch replacement = 15 seconds, 2 screws away for the old grills - find the cables which are attached inside the bumper and pull them lose.

I pulled the right one out with clip and all as it would not come free, the left was ok.

It really is the simplest mod and if you really need to, you can do it in less then 5 minutes :D
