The lowest springs you can get dude are 55mm lowering springs and supersport make them you can get a set off of venom motorsport for a mk 6 polo but they are the same as the mk7 mate.
If you want 60mm springs your going to have to go down the route of coilovers dude thats the only way you will get your motor down to 60mm or more.
The dampers will get fudged as well mate if you go lower than 30mm or 40mm after a while. I would go for coilovers mate then you can raise the car and lower it when you want.

My shocks died in about 5000kms with H&R springs. If you go low, you may be up for some new shocks on the front after not long...

I've done over 20k with the H&R's on standard shocks and still no problems, so would recommend them

What coilovers are decent then but not £££. Am i right in saying that coilovers make it much stiffer than say a uprated kit?

AP's are meant to be pritty good, a mate of mine had them fitted to his and has never had any problems and he has had them one for near a year wound all the way down. Dont get Jamex or v maxx coilovers mate there known for there unreliability when they are wound all the way down, the dampers start to go.Coilovers do make the dampening stiffer, usual coilovers run at about 30 percent but some can vary.
