Can anyone tell me what this is???

Hello

recently bought a MKV 2000 Polo and I have a few things I need to sort out.

Firstly can anyone tell me what this is?
Its just hanging in the engine from the wiring, looks like a pump of some sort that has been disconnected.


Also my battery went flat after charging and putting back the air bag light stays on.

ABS light also stays on, have checked fuses on the battery, any other ideas

Thats the one way valve for the activated charcoal canister. It should have two pipes connected to it, one which goes to the black cylinder behind the drivers headlight area, and the other to the back of the inlet manifold area

Abs could be for many reasons - you really need to get it plugged into a diagnostic reader to find out the cause of the fault.

Same as the airbag, thatll need resetting by VAGCOM or similar.

For VAGCOM do I need to go to a VW garage or is there a cheaper option

You can get a copy yourself if you have access to the cable

Most small garages that do diagnostics should have something similar!

any ideas where to get vag-com, I have seen the cables on fleabay
