anyone know the size of the festoon bulbs that light up the rear licence plate i would like to replace them with white led bulbs but am unsure of thier size, and am unable to check or id just take them out and check

I'd say they were C5W's but I think they come in 2 length sizes, and i don't know which it is.

i know there festoon bulbs they will be the same as the interior light wich i also have in l.e.d. just a different lengh... hmmm i shall try to investigate

there the same as the boot light bulb guys not the interior bulb but dont go fitting the boot light bulb as it's 10w not 5w and melts the plastic outer casing lower wattage l.e.d's should be fine.

funnily enough i pulled this thread up earlier to have a look as i never got round to getting them...

what you need is a 36mm festoon bulb like this one...

I've been hearing things related to MOT failure after fitting some LEDs.. Anyone not failed??

ikf thats the case mate it takes 2 mins litterallky to replace these bulbs... and i shouldnt think so anyway all new bmw, audi's etc... come with led licence plate lights... audi daylights are led's and they wouldnt make them as standard if it would fail an mot :D, my interior light is led...

if your worried just keep all your original bulbs and do a quick swap before your mot... mine passed last week i thing so i have another year to worry about all that lol
